A multi-partner, multi-country approach with Traffic and WWF to increase understanding of current shark fin consumption trends in Asia as well as changing trade dynamics. This study will provide the information necessary to inform culturally specific regional demand reduction campaigns, address the emerging demand in manta and mobula ray gill plates and fill knowledge gaps in changing trade dynamics. The three lead partners have worked on shark fin trade/consumption related issues since 2007 and have cumulatively worked with all organizations in the target locations implementing shark demand reduction strategies.
