Global Shark Conservation Campaign South Asia West Africa

This grant will fund a portion of Pew’s Global Shark Conservation Campaign to implement the 2013 and 2016 listings of sharks and rays on Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). This will be accomplished through in-country work in Sri Lanka and Senegal to establish strong mortality controls. These funds were used to support efforts to list additional shark species at the CITES Conference of the Parties meeting in August 2019.
