Science and fishers’ traditional knowledge are needed to create policies in an inclusive manner. To accomplish this, it is important to create a network of fishers and motivating them to release sawfish live by helping them to break barriers. This project aims to create a model approach in collaboration with primary stakeholders, policy makers and researchers to mitigate sawfish bycatch in developing countries and limit further population decline.
