Given the global need to secure a future for the Critically Endangered largetooth sawfish, this project will strengthen research, education and capacity-building efforts to identify and monitor critical habitats of sawfish in Costa Rica. The grantee will work with the government to develop a Sawfish Conservation Plan for the recovery of sawfish populations in Central America, a high priority area highlighted in the Global Sawfish Priority Report.
