As part of the global Shark and Ray Recovery Initiative, this project in the Gulf of Gabes is aimed at reversing the trend of declining shark and ray populations in Tunisia, including threatened sandbar sharks, common guitarfish, and blackchin guitarfish. Working with communities in a bottom-up participatory approach, the project works on building recovery plans for these species in one of the last strongholds for sharks and rays in the Mediterranean.
