The sand tiger shark (Carcharias taurus) is a critically endangered shark in the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean. This project will develop an advocacy strategy to achieve best political support for its inclusion in the Appendix l of the Convention on Migratory Species. Locally, Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina will promote legislation on good recreational fishing practices for all the Argentine maritime provinces for the survival of this species, as well as other medium (Galeorhinus galues, CR) and large (Notorynchus cepedianus, VU & Carcharhinus brachyurus, VU) sharks.
